The shared web interface at experience.adobe.com in which CX Enterprise applications run. It provides sign-in and organization switching, the home page, the unified header with the application selector, Unified Search, help, notifications and the profile menu, and the Preferences page. Adobe also calls these features the Central Interface Components or core services. Applications run in an iframe inside the shell and use its header, navigation and user context.

Adobe ID, Enterprise ID or Federated ID sign-in at experience.adobe.com, followed by a check that the right organization is shown in the header. Users with access to several organizations switch between them from the header without signing out.

For organizations with Federated IDs, adding #/sso:@<domain> to the experience.adobe.com URL signs the user in through the company single sign-on without typing an email address or password. An application path can be appended to bookmark a specific app, for example /analytics.

When an organization has enabled Federated Guest Access, guest users authenticated on their own domain can switch accounts under Other Accounts in the organization menu on any page. Added July 2026.

When an organization has IP access lists enabled in Admin Console, every web application on experience.adobe.com checks them at sign-in and on each page load, and shows an error to users outside the allowed ranges. In effect since September 2025.

How applications, including custom App Builder single-page apps (Experience Cloud Shell extensions), run inside the shell: a module-runtime script injected into the application iframe plus the @adobe/exc-app npm package. Events report when the shell is ready and when configuration (organization, locale, token) or history changes.
